Cafe Chrysalis

Hey guys. Welcome back to the blog.
So in Medical school you have to pick a mentor, someone to guide you through medical school basically. My friends (Ini, Laolu and Lape) and I picked the same mentor Dr Kehinde Kuti. She is a family medicine consultant, HIV specialist and she also deals with preventive child medicine(something like a well child programme). She is Lape's aunt as well. Anyways, yesterday, we had one of our meetings and she took us out for dinner at cafe chrysalis so I decided to share my experience with you...kinda like a review if you will.

Cafe Chrysalis.
Cafe Chrysalis is a nice, cosy restaurant located in Bodija, Ibadan. I have been to cafe chrysalis about twice and ordered take out once before now so I am not exactly new to the place. What I find amazing about cafe chrysalis is that there is no sign board whatsoever to direct you or even indicate it's presence, and it's in the midst of residential buildings so you can very easily miss it if you don't know where exactly it is. I guess the reason they had it this way is for privacy and exclusivity, and that is something they have going on for them.

Pretty accurate innit?

I'll share some pictures with you just so if you need to go out to somewhere fancy and pocket friendly, you can have this in mind.

Interior.
Look at how beautiful and cosy it looks. Like I said there is no signboard to indicate its presence so there could be only a few people there at a time.
Look at all this art!
This one tickled my fancy.
Let's get down to the meal shall we?
When you first arrive and order your meal, you get a slice of toasted bread cut into two halves with butter served in a little cute basket ( I forgot to take a picture of that). For our appetizer, We had STUFFED CREPES. It is described as light pancakes filled with delicious sausages, cheese and smoked chicken.

Stuffed crepes. It costs 750
After that, Laolu and I had BISTRO PRAWN AND CHICKEN PASTA as our main meal. Its an Asian dish and it tasted pretty delicious. It was described as chicken strips stir fried with mushrooms, bell peppers, carrots and spaghetti, served with battered prawn in tomatoe sauce
Bistro prawn and chicken pasta(2000 naira)

Lape had CHICKEN CURRY and it was described as chunks of chicken in Indian curry sauce with potatoes, peppers and boiled eggs served with basmati rice.
Chicken curry(1500 naira)
Ini had SPICY BEEF STIR FRY. It was described as sliced beef sauce with onions, carrots, peppers and spicy herbs served with basmati rice.
Spicy beef stir fry(1500 naira)
We had regular drinks. I had fanta, Laolu had schwepps, Ini had coke and Lape had sprite. Our mentor didn't eat at the dinner. She just had a drink- PINA COLADA. Its a blend of cream coconut, pineapple juice, banana served with ice.
Non alcoholic Pina Colada(1000)

While we were having our dinner Obinna and his girlfriend came in and so I took a picture of them too.

Cute couple No?
So yeah. That pretty much sums up our dinner date. But before we leave lemme drop an "usie". Lool
